What is sustainability and how does it work? We talk about biodynamic products, zero waste and conscious consumption. Of course, we all try to protect our environment in some way or counteract climate change in some way. We Piris definitely want to contribute to protecting our environment and have been working on new strategies to do so over the last few years.
Our measures
Products and food:
We try to source as many products as possible from local producers and farmers. In cooperation with the “Hogast” association from South Tyrol, we support mountain farmers who raise their animals in the form of “free-range farming” and without mass breeding and feed them the purest natural feed for growth.
Green Cleaning:
Since this season, we have switched to environmentally friendly cleaning with micro-dry steam and, in addition to protecting the environment, we are also protecting the health of our employees and our guests. We also benefit from a 90% water saving.
Change of linen:
With us, you always have the choice of whether you would like to have your bed linen and towels changed. We have therefore made a conscious decision not to automatically change all your linen every day, but to let you decide and only change towels and bed linen when you wish.
Cosmetics & Spa:
We use the certified organic Vitalis Dr. Joseph line from South Tyrol as our main cosmetics line, which uses herbs and plants from our own cultivation and from South Tyrol.
Bath slippers:
Of course we are happy to offer you our fluffy bath slippers. However, if you would like to bring your own slippers, we will always ask you when you confirm your booking whether we can provide you with ours or whether you can bring your own.
Energy generation:
For several years now, we have been obtaining our thermal energy from our district heating plant in Latsch, which heats exclusively with biomass. The biomass is produced exclusively from waste wood from the region.
Straws:
On average, more than 600 million straws are thrown away every day in the USA and the EU alone. We have found a unique partner for an environmentally friendly alternative. The company Strohkopf produces drinking straws from real straws that are CO2-neutral and 100% biodegradable.
